Future.Life.Places. and the ArtGeneration initiative –
Art of Living Places in the European Union
Sea

These European Art of Living Places offer an impressive mix of beautiful beaches, rich nature, and fascinating cultural attractions. Not only tourists, but also potential newcomers find ideal conditions here. Thanks to excellent connections to various means of transport such as rail, ferry, and air, these regions are easily accessible and are enjoying growing popularity with travelers from all over Europe. The Mediterranean island of Sicily, central Spain, central Portugal, and Germany, with its inland lakes and rivers, impress with majestic mountains, green valleys, and vast landscapes that invite exploration.

Furthermore, the associated location of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean invites you to dream under palm trees.
We are stardust, we are golden
We are billion-year-old carbon
And we've got to get ourselves
Back to the garden

These song lyrics from ‘Woodstock’ - by Joni Mitchell - describe the emotions of the first pop culture generation and are so well suited to the longings of later generations.
In Europe, interesting opportunities for this can be found in the "Art of Living Places" of the European Union: from the breathtaking island of Sicily, including the Trapani region with the Gibellina Nuova art settlement, to central Spain, with the almost untouched Extremadura, the unique nature of the Alentejo in Portugal, and the enchanting old cultural landscapes of Germany – places are emerging where the future and quality of life go hand in hand.

Visitors and new residents of the ArtGeneration projects have a wide range of opportunities to explore these fascinating landscapes. Ancient ruins, traditional villages, and UNESCO World Heritage sites offer a fascinating journey through the centuries. The hospitality of the locals, the local cuisine, and the lively markets contribute to an unforgettable experience.
A further attraction for guests, patients, and newcomers are the low prices compared to established European destinations. Untouched nature, fresh sea air, and clear water make the Art of Living  locations relaxing and health-promoting travel and lifestyle destinations.

ArtGeneration: Creative Perspectives for a Sustainable Future
The ArtGeneration initiative presents innovative concepts for a modern, environmentally friendly future in conjunction with Art of Living  Places: Beatnik Villages and PopCures Boarding Homes as model projects for connected living, working, and mobility. They focus on international health tourism, green care agrotourism, and workation. Residence sharing with friends, as well as culture for health, fitness, and hiking, are further focal points.
ArtGeneration's concepts offer interesting alternatives in the areas of work, living, and tourism for the 50+ age group and younger. They are oriented towards creative, ecological, and altruistic themes, combining the lifestyle of the Beatnik movement with the "pop culture spirit of the 60s and 70s" and the traditional philosophy of life of southern countries, thus creating a unique connection between retro feeling and modern approaches.

ArtGeneration's activities are aimed at people who value self-determined living and working. They particularly target people from metropolitan areas and large cities in Germany, the EU countries, Norway, England, Switzerland, the USA, Canada, Japan, and Australia. The projects offer living, working, and vacation opportunities for retirees, expatriates, freelancers, RbI program participants, and start-ups from various industries.

The connection between the Art of Living locations and the initiative ArtGeneration creates a unique synergy that combines natural beauty, cultural heritage, and a healthy lifestyle. These innovative model projects could serve as models for a sustainable future not only in the region but worldwide.

The ArtGeneration PopCulture-Generation living environments encompass structural implementations such as energy-efficient building and monument renovations, ecological new construction, innovative mobility, and cultural activities, e.g., PopCures and cultural exchange. Planned "educational centers (UNESCO Culture Health)" and theme parks are intended to serve as beacons covering the entire spectrum of sustainability in the areas of trade, production, services, IT development, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, art (e.g., art retreats, film locations, comics and gaming (crossplayer, steampunk, and cosplayer resorts), music, literature, theater, fashion, design, crafts, health, and smart home entertainment management.
Strategies for establishing companies or cooperatives are available for slow-movement topics such as cycling, canoeing, and health hiking. Outdoor equipment and the development of health resorts are planned. Examples include agrotourism with green care, naturopathy and organic agriculture and forestry, clean (rainbow) eating and planetary health diets, herb cultivation, solar greenhouses, agro-solar, and the cultivation of renewable resources. The ArtGeneration projects are therefore not only an innovative model for sustainable living, working and traveling, but also offer diverse opportunities for investments, cooperation and a holistic, healthy lifestyle for people of different age groups and industries worldwide.
